Prep enrolments
The Department of Education has a statewide Foundation (Prep) enrolment timeline. The timeline advises families when and how to enrol their child into Foundation (Prep) at a Victorian government primary school, including Saltwater P-9 College.
You can find information and resources about the enrolment timeline and procedures at: Enrolling in Foundation (Prep). You can also download the ‘Foundation (Prep) Enrolment Information pack for Parents and Carers’ from this site (available from 15 April 2024).
You will be able to apply to enrol your child in Foundation (Prep) 2025 at Saltwater P-9 College from 15 April 2024.
What you need to do:
Enrolment applications submitted after 26 July 2024 will be processed by our school as they are received, in accordance with the department’s Placement Policy.
Year 1-6 Enrolments
While there is no statewide timeline for enrolling in years 1 through 6, we recommend you do this as soon as possible to ensure adequate time to source uniform, stationery and attend any scheduled transition days that are arranged.
Please complete and submit the enrolment form.
Year 7 Enrolments
If your child is seeking a place in Year 7 at Saltwater P-9 College next year, and they currently attend a government primary school you will need to download the ’Placement Information Pack for Government School Parents and Carers’ which will be available in Term 2, 2024. This may also be available from your child’s government primary school. The application form needs to be returned to your child’s primary school and all communications about the placement must be with the Year 6 Coordinator or Transition Coordinator at your child’s primary school until the placement is confirmed.
If your child currently is attending a non-government primary school you will need to download the ’Placement Information Pack for Government School Parents and Carers’ when it is available in Term 2. This will need to be returned to Saltwater P-9 College by Friday 10 May 2024.
More information for parents and carers can be found on the Departments website “Moving from primary to secondary school”
